TeamViewer Host is the host application of the screen sharing PC solution. The service itself is very similar to VNC. You set up a host on any computer connected to the Internet or another network, and you connect to that computer by using a client that is connected to the same network. Now, TeamViewer is exactly that. It allows you to control any computer from anywhere, if it is connected to the Internet, obviously. Once inside, you can control the computer as if you were there. That is possible because TeamViewer shares all the resources of the computer and acts as your proxy there. So all the actions you carry out from the client version will be executed in real-time by the Host version. TeamViewer Host has an advanced networking engine that allows you to connect to it even if your computer is behind a firewall or router or if it has limited connectivity, which is great for certain types of networks. Also, both the client and host applications are free of charge if used for Non-commercial purposes. The latest version of TeamViewer Host is 4.0.5503. However, this review deals with version 4.0. |
